I think it was announced (with pictures released) a little over 2 weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BKlxv6puDM is a video of it and some pictures at http://www.weairsoft.com/gallery_detail.php?id=1. As far as people actually getting them, I don't know about that.

GREAT FIND. I've been trying to gather information on this for the past month or so and that $250 price tag just made my day.

It is pretty new,I have known about since maybe,2 months ago.I hav not looked into it much, seeing how much GBB rifles can be to maintain, with mags, replacement parts, etc.

so therefore it would be stupid to sell an aeg for a gbb?

If its the only gun you own, then probably yes.

That gun looks pretty badass in takedown and such. If they ever make it in the H configuration its mines. That and HPA capable.

If you have alot of extra cash go for it,but if you're on a budget, don't.

Gotta ask a dumb question, but why would this be a bad buy if it was your only gun?

You'll have a fun time in the winter lol. If you really want a SCAR buy a Classic Army or Ares. At least it (should) work year round.

It looks like a nice piece of hardware, but I'd only get one if I was going to play with other people in GBB, because ROF and mag capacity just aren't competitive. And the mags cost $40 a piece.

seeing how it has a recoil spring i wounder if you can put a more powerful spring in it to give it more kick.

Other than that, this gun is pretty much just for show, unless theres an event that is only based on these type of guns.

After watching that video I like the idea of this weapon but its not practical to field this when you can buy an AEG shooting 30rps with a 5000rd box mag for half the price. It would be interesting to see GBB only events, and I think it would defiantly add to the Milsim aspect that is lost with some of these aegs.

It would be interesting to see GBB only events, and I think it would defiantly add to the Milsim aspect that is lost with some of these aegs.

The reasoning behind an uber suped up rifle that you would never encounter in real life beyond all likely means, like one shooting 30rps with a drum mag, completely escapes me. Well, unless its a minigun. But people are doing that to their M4 variants nowa days. If you just want to rain ammo upon your enemies without being realistic, then why would you waste your time on a milsim game? Isn't that sort of stuff meant for Halo and paintball?

Whether its wise or not, i already ordered my CO2 variation of the WE SCAR GBB last Thursday after countless hours of reading basic reviews and watching YouTube demonstrations. Ill have it by Friday. I figured that I have never owned a GBB rifle, but i have plenty of AEGs. If GBB rifles offer an element to realism that i have never experienced before, then i am willing to invest (or gamble) into the prospect. That being said, I see a great amount of potential in the field of GBB rifles, and by buying this i will be able to satisfy numerous questions that i have about them. And even if this is a bad investment and the rifle turns out to be a load of trash, i will at least learn from the situation.

If anyone is interested in my SCAR or my opinions about it once i get it, ill write up a review.

I would love to read a review. As a newbie looking to purchase a gun and who likes Milsim, this level of realism really interests me.

Thanks

I'd be very interested to see how the CO2 version does in colder temperatures.

i'd love to read the review, hopefully this economical bullshit falls of this planet, and i can get enough money to buy one of these bad larrys!

I'd be very interested to see how the CO2 version does in colder temperatures.

From what i read, and i read a lot, the CO2 should do much better than green gas in the cold. A lot of people seemed to think that it would even have enough power to use in the dead of winter.

However, i also read that the green gas is more consistent. For example, the first shots of CO2 had much higher velocities than the green gas. However, near the end of the magazine's fill, the CO2 powered shots had significantly lower fps (even lower than that of green gas) while the green gas velocities remained much closer to what it was shooting in the beginning.

I believe they're gonna be $40

I've had it for a day and so far it is fantastic. Fun to shoot (blowback is great), hits hard (a little to hard for skirmishing with CO2 for now), and the range and accuracy is actually pretty decent.

Some are 40, some are 48 on Evike.com
I don't remember what the difference is between the two however. I believe that the cheaper ones are the older versions.

UPDATE:
Yeah, I got my scar. Serial number 0000137. Ive fired about 15 mags so far. Somethings I really love about it, such as is generally solid feel and realistic functions. More to come in my full review.

However, other things I'm not so happy about. For example, It is considerably inaccurate compared to my AEGs. Also, as many of you may have noticed, many of the first batch of rifles have had a lot of problems, primarily, the metal plate that joins the upper receiver to the stock has broken clean off due to the massive amount of power behind the CO2 propelled bolt and return spring.

My metal plate has had no problems yet, however, my stock has. Initially, the plastic parts of the SCAR seemed really nice. They're textured, comfy, and seemingly sturdy. But after after about 15 mags, I have noticed that the stock has begun to crack (right where the return spring inside the upper receiver pushes back on the stock). Now, nothing has broken yet, but i foresee my stock breaking within the next 10 mags.

This may be an isolated incident. And also, because its the 137th rifle off of the line, it may have some bugs that newer rifles may not have.

Nonetheless I have emailed WE Tech describing my problem, and I pleaded for help. I have heard that their customer service is very good. I'll see about that and get back to you on how helpful they are. I will also contact evike.com and inform them that they owe me a stock (7 day internet warranty).

Don't get your hopes up. The race is still young and these rifles have a lot of potential.

i got mine in and its alot of fun i got the c02 version but i got some standard gas mags coming in seeing the little c02 powerlets suck and only give you about 80 shots. Ill try and get some pictures posted up when i get home.

I doubt they even give you that much. At BEST I've been able to get 60, usually about 45 shot.

But i doubt the green gas will be much better. I hear they fire roughly the same amount of shots per fill.

i took a count today while shooting it, and i got through 2 full mags, and half another so about 75 rounds. I tried it again with another c02 powerlet and only got one mag. The really dont seem to be consistent.

And yet whosloosin92 over on ASR is getting a claimed 119 shots off of a single cartridge and reaching out to 200 feet...of course the mods he made to the valve may have helped.

As for switching to propane/gg, at least its a helluva lot cheaper. desertstriker, do a little compare/contrast post once you get those mags in.

Also...$40 mags are gg, $48 gets u a co2 mag

well thats a lie. I have mine and its shooting fine i got the gas mags and it they definatly last alot longer than the lame ass c02 powelets. I can get about almost 3 mags off with one fill. The guns got some pretty damn decent range too, i Also called evike when i heard of the issues with the stock plate breaking and managed to score three free stock plates, which sell for 10 each on their website.

well, so far I am very pleased with this gun for the price, hits hard has a stronger recoil than i thought it would have. the hop is a bit low endish like the agm gbb's. but it has a nice feel, field strips in seconds.

more to come...

damn trigger mech is fkin up on me. the firing pin if you will no linger retracts to hit the gas button on the mags, so the pin just rides up and never actuates the gas release.

EVIKE.com did state that they are sitting on a heck of a basket of parts for these guns... just a heads up people.
New gun arrived today and they stock lock was already broken, they are again sending me more parts...

seems like this is turning into a review of its own.

evike has been a really good retailer for backing up their products... they really should precheck whats ready to ship, but hey... they ship parts out like its a faucet on high volume so thats a plus i guess.

i am inbound for a few replacement pieces from them and I can not complain a tad with their service.

just a heads up people....

a teaser video for an fyi...

update,
these guns work good, being a gbb you will need to check a lot of parts for turning loose on you after a days skirmish for sure.

hop break in takes around 2000 rounds to break it in. there is a few good replacement parts that are a must have if you are using this as a main weapon. all in all it is a nice weapon but is not for the sprayer and prayer...

its more for the fined tuned airsofter that likes his 1 shot 1 kills or is a cqb'er

evike stocks all upgrade parts...
