well very plainly would like to know if it works. I had this terrible but amazing idea, Socomgears Barrett M107 is a very fat gun, weighing 10.kg so that being said switching out the m4 gear box that is already in it and throwing the src 8mm gearbox in there :) Its a different idea but I don't believe any one can argue that this isn't a cool concept

If theres a V2 gearbox in it now, another V2 box will fit, as long as the box in it has not been modified in any way.

Im lost here.....the SRC 8mm is the bearing size not 8mm pellets.
VFC tried the 8mm (pellet) barrett but it was made with gobs of fail. It was very sound structurally, but just ask Jabber about accuracy and range. I used to drool over the one at A&A.

yes, switching the stock gear box out and replacing it with a src 8mm, but not converting it to a 8mm bb,

Maybe I'm missing something. Why would you replace the current V2 gearbox with another version 2 gearbox, particularly an SRC? How about a Haynes Box or a Systema prebuild Mech box?

Why don't you wait until the gun comes out to see how good or bad the gearbox that comes with it is?

400 , is decent for field fps, but at the same side is its a heavy rifle and I could compensate for that with some extra fire power.

Well I think thats why we are a bit confused. The 8mm gearbox refers to the bearings in the gun, nothing regarding the FPS, the range, accuracy, or bbs you can use. Not too mention SRC has not really established itself as an excessively solid company. To be honest you can build that V2 gearbox like any other in terms of getting the performance you are looking for. It Probably would have been better if they used a V3 so that you could really stretch the limits of a semi auto electric sniper rifle. Unfortunately the V2 limits you somewhat, and thats something you would need to do HEAVY modification to change, if its even possible at all.

However you could easily get that gun shooting over 400 FPS with the V2 in it. Just need to jack it up a bit probably.

well the gear box stock i think it is 430 not much better, but I know very little on what actually makes my guns tick, i know the basics to keep it operational and clean but thats about it. I'm seeing it like cars, if you have a honda civc thats set at 140 hp, and you do a whole lot of performance mods snd get 340 out of it maxed vs. dodge charger srt8 starting stock at 425 am i making any sense? :D

Right, wanna make a wicked hot gun that has a V2 gearbox in it.

Start Researching "Haynes Box".

Once your done researching.
I know where you can get one.
