im gonna be helpful for a change.
KWA M4, CQBR ( http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_70&products_id=2948 )
M16 or G36. i have the CQBR, its great love it. if you want a sick looking and functioning gun,
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_70&products_id=3431
Remember, your going to want optics, batteries, mags, gear so if 800 is only for the gun go KWA or G&P or VFC and shop your heart out. If $800 is for everything, i suggest spending about $300-$400 on the gun, about $50-75 on batteries and mabye $50-$100 on mags then the rest on gear and optics and accesories.

I really like the look of the KWA M4, CQBR.

I might go with that.

Have you ever used the gun, Or owned it?

ill probably throw $400 for a new gun

and the rest shit for the gun

And maybe another $200 for gear.

Like i said
$$$ is not a probleam.

I still have like 6 Dboy m4 mags. are the usless in this gun?
Or can i use them?

I was looking at the G&G Full Metal GR-16 CQB R ( M4-CQBR ) Ver. 3

Sl-8 is a sniper rifle type deal right?

I resent that.

Furthermore, I would like to say that although M4 variants are fabulous, and very easy to find parts for, personally I tend toward guns that not many people have. So I'm going to recommend you take a G&G SCAR CQC, throw in a prometheus tightbore barrel, put in a madbull shark hop up bucking, get a reinforced gearbox and gearset, and put in a li-po battery. Then, put on a taclight and a vertical grip, maybe a laser if you're into that kind of thing, and a holosight. Ta-dah, you've got a CQB beast.

Here is most of what you need:

I'm going to make this simple

For guns. KWA AEG series they are all good

Mags. MAG brand Midcaps can't go wrong cheap and effective

Sights. short range:G&P Aimpoint w/cantalever mount
Longer Range: 3x Booster or G&P ACOG (thats all you really need for an assault rifle)

Accessories. RIS, ICS AN/PEQ2 box (the laser idea sounds cool), vert grip, batteries (elite cells are good), PanTac MOLLE vest (cheaper vests and good quality), Pouches (tactical Tailor pouches are good, get hydration carrier!),

Possibilities:grenade launcher (needed for grenadier role), Howlers (if you play at GT they are the minimum), Surefire G2 Flashlight (good for night ops and are fairly cheap), Propper BDU/DCUs (I think on BDU.com they have some military grade ones), crane stock,

Sidearm: TM 1911, TM hi-capa, or KWA M9 PTP (all are very reliable)

Please ask someone else about upgrading

Hope I helped

BAD IDEA, seriously just get a systema drop in gearbox

Sl-8 comes with all the stuff u need extra mag scope replaced some internals put on a g36c carrying handle to mount a scope instead of the old rail, if u want a battery too. WIll sell if the price is right

I was looking at the SCAR.

I might buy 2 guns for now.. And upgrade later..

Im very undecided, haha but thanks all for the help..

I like The G36C, I like m4's i like the m16 if i could put rails on it and make it look as close to the new marine m16s as possible.

The mp5 i like but id only us for CQB

And for a sniper rifle i was something i can hit a target beyond 200feet.

With a low power gun and this

You can hit anything from more than 200 feet. Getting a sniper isn't necessary.

the GR-16 CQBR is a great gun. just got one running a 9.6v batt in it and the thing is amazing. however the SCAR would be awesome, definitely a unique gun.

you said mp5 for cqb, but if you get a TM or G&G or ICS (shorty has an Airsoft Elite ICS Mp5, i have its awsome) and put a long scilincer, with a m4 length TB and a new spring, bucking, and hopup, youve got a nice compact gun, with the range of m4/m16 rifles, and the accuracy you want from a gun. (p.s, i dont know about any other upgrades, thoese are justs the ones im goanna do to mine=P)

I'd like to a have a verity of guns, that I could chose from when i play.

I'm not too good with upgrades, just tightbore barrels, and hope up. small things. So a drop in gearbox sounds like heaven right now.

Those are pretty simple right?

DWIN-
you forgot to add an m4 cylinder to that set up. Cylinders need to match barrel volume, otherwise you get range, ROF, and accuracy problems.

Meastro-
Assuming you get the right GB, you should- should- be able to just drop it in, bolt it back together and go shoot. However, sometimes the gbs are not quite right and may still need to taken apart, reshimmed or otherwise tuned.

I know it sounds liek a cheapy but going with a cyma AK and tossing a tightbore in it is a great way to go for a woods gun. the combo of AK hop-up and the internal quality of the ak makes it a force to be reckoned with. ramming a 160 round midcap in and holding the trigger down is a realy nice feeling. another gun i havent seen mentioned if you want somthing a little unique with good out of the box range and internals is the CA G3sg-1 hold a large battery, great range easy hopup, long barrel and 500 round highcaps. it's a V2 so it's not hard t find upgrade parts.

So you don't want an M4? On, buy another lol

(Thats what I'm reading)

Just get a bunch of crappy china spring guns lol and throw them at people :D

Have you seen the new Echo 1 P90? Its pretty sweet with a hicap. Then you can always turn back to the plan jane-everybodies got one M4's

Or get JG's metal HK416 and buy lots of toys for that...still M4ish...but kinda not I guess? Whats the worry, if your good no matter what you get you'll beat the other guy with anyway right?

Take care and good luck

This is a dated thread for the topic, but seeing as how it was dug up...

...Furthermore, I would like to say that although M4 variants are fabulous, and very easy to find parts for, personally I tend toward guns that not many people have...

I agree. Think outside the box. I'd say get a Sig 556, but then I wouldn't feel special anymore, so you should steer clear of that :D. I'm also building an MP5 Swordfish, but parts are hard to find to build that. I think uncompany still has some custom pre-assembled guns like the XM-8, and M41 Pulse Rifle "Game over man, game over!". Still don't see too many SCAR's, or Type 89 JSDF. Check the custom gun sections on websites.

I'm also building an MP5 Swordfish

Damnit! I will no longer have the only one on MAASF! PM me if you need any help finding the parts.

And Longbow's suggestion was great. I've seen tightbored Cyma AKs shoot harder, more accurate, and last longer than dozens of 300+ dollar guns. Before you get anything else, I would advise grabbing one of those so you always have a solid backup that will probably be more effective than your primary.

Honestly, having seen a few inside and out. Outside, they look great. Inside, they leave a lot to be desired. And even then, they aren't worth what your paying considering you can get a chinese made all metal gun who's external construction is as good, if not better than, the KWA.

Thank you for posting this :D I was wondering if they made a shorter barrel SCAR. The ones I found through googling all had a longer barrel. This is closer to what I was thinking. Are there any higher end models of this gun that wouldn't need so many aftermarket add-ons?

This http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=154_155&products_id=3986 SCAR is pretty damn sexy!! What do you guys think of it. I love just how solid it looks but i'm still in the browsing stage, not yet in the pouring through reviews stage.

If your gonna go SCAR, go SCAR L, mags for the H are harder to find, and a lot more expensive.
