so this winter ill be going to japan for a month and plan on hitting some airsoft shops in tokyo, echigoya shop and whatever else i find in akihabara. i dont plan on buying a aeg or a gbb just some upgrade parts/accessories, but i think the temptation to buy an aeg/gbb maybe to great for me to pass up. its like the holyland of airsoft. how can i not?

so i was wondering.. if anyone had any experience with bringing a airsoft gun back to the usa? would it be alright if it was check-in luggage? sure cover the trades and paint some easy removable orange paint at the tip; ill probably strip it too into parts. but are there special rules in which i need to check it in as a real firearm, case and all? or would it just be better to mail?

ill give a call to the tsa and see what else i can find out. idk.

You could just send yourself a package and hope it gets through customs alright. You can also bring it in your luggage as long as you phone ahead to the airlines and notify them that you will be bringing a "non-lethal replica firearm" or something along the lines of that. I mean, it's not really illegal to put that in your check-in luggage and people have done that before (or so I hear from Airsoft Radio).

You Need a TSA certified Case for that (Ie. Pelican)

Or a Lockable case(still tsa certified)

Just ship it internationally back to where you live....
