View Full Version : Looking for a team
My name is Taylor a.k.a. Tusk, im 14 years old, ive been playing airosft for a few years and i would say myself i am very exprienced. At the moment i am looking for a team to recruit me in Massachusetts. Although i can snipe, i do have an assault rifle. I will take orders. I own 6 guns, 5 of which that work, 4 of which are actually worth using. those 4 guns are: UTG AEG AK-47 Warhawk V2, Spring Crosman stinger R34, Spring Beretta handgun, Green Gas powered Glock. usually my weapons of choice are the AK-47 and Glock, i am willing to loan out any extra weapons i have for rounds.
I dont know how exactly would like to see how i play, but you can email me at t.donabedian@hotmail.com and we can attempt to figure something out
thank you for your time,
Tusk
It's best to run solo for awhile and mesh in with the different teams around- gives you plenty of face to face time.
ive been playing with mostly the same people since ive started, over time we've had more and more people join i think our biggest game has been a 6v6, Recently i bought an AEG and even though i havent used it in the field yet, i would still like to be recruited to a team, to give me something to do and get out of the house. Normally i would spend my days inside playing Counter-strike and various other first person and third person shooter games. i need to get out of this house!!!

Well then get out, go to larger events (AKA MAASF Events), be seen, introduce yourself to people. There is a whole huge world beyond 6v6 backyard games.
Check out the Events Section, there has been a game just about every weekend for the last 2 months.
Thank you sir
my only problem is im missing some gear
and have you seen the thread for the operation vengence II
do you know where that is being held?

I posted it for you in that thread.
Missing some gear? All you need to play at just about any MAASF Event, is good eye protection and a gun? There are no gear requirements for MOST events.
Ghost Town requires Full Seal Eye Protection, but it is available to Rent From PnL on Site if you do not own any.
Also, there are special regulations for those who are under the age of 18. Bare in mind that these restrictions only apply to Ghost Town events and not most other local MAASF events.
i assume full seal eye protection would basically be a paintball mask. Well thank you sir for your help, hope to see you there if you go.

If you are under 18 full face protection is required as well, so yes a paintball mask. Like I said before, they have them on site for those who do not own their own.
alright and i called PnL and they told me to get in contact with the teams running the games. do i have to be a part of a team or can i just show up and play? yea i know you told me for everything that is known to look around i did and i didnt find a bloody thing! haha.

Well, the official contact for GT games is Wizard. I am on the team that is Hosting this GT event, so I can most likely help you out too.
To answer your questions.
You don't have to be on a team, you can just show up.
Here is a thread about GT and the rules.
You should pay special attention to the Rules regarding players under the age of 18.

Here is a link to the Field Section, check out the other fields as well if you'd like. They will be at the top in the Stickies section.

alright well ive been to the GT page several times. does it cost to enter? and can i trust the people that go there?, like if i brought a laptop with me kinda thing. Because i sure as hell dont have a license and my dad works and would most likely bring his with him, knowing that he has to sign a waiver and remain on site. and i do remember seeing something on the GT page that the teams will be divided up by camo, i recently bought an ACU digital vest, that acceptable?
thnx,
Tusk

GT usually costs 20$, I would expect that this time as well.
The people that go there are generally trustworthy, but I don't think I'd leave a $1,000 laptop out unattended for no reason. If what you meant was will my dad get mugged for his laptop the answer is a definite no.
Teams for this game are not sorted by camo, the only GT game I see with a camo requirement is in July.
alright. is there an fps limit and are we allowed to use smokes?

You would have to change springs. Which involves opening the gearbox and what not. Try the Poor Mans Chrono, AKA shooting a tin can. For more info on Poor Mans Chrono please SEARCH for it, use Google.

Your gun doesn't shoot close to that. So don't worry about going over the limit. A Warhawk shoots around 280 fps .2g
i dont think thats right man. that was the fps for the version one. recently UTG made a version 2 with an upgraded gearbox, i think it boosted the fps up to 330 atleast. i shot a full unopened pepsi can if that counts as the poor mans chrono, went right through.

Are you saying that you shot a full unopened can of Pepsi and the BB went in one side of the can, and exited the other?
it did go through one side and came close to exiting, it left a small dent on the exit side. i think penitration and the pepsi itself slowed the bb down.

Try an empty can, Google the method to get directions.
alright. so basically if you do the sides and it makes it through both sides you have more then 350 fps. if you get through the bottom of the can shooting through the top i would assume, you have more then 400 fps. now what i did was i watched the video on youtube that came up in the google search and did some other researching as well, but i could find out how far away you have to be from the target. is there a recommended distance?

Your gun shoots around 280 fps.

GT is a great place. The Horsemen run great games there. If ya can I would recommend getting out to some of their games. Pay attention to the rules and regulations of the field though. GT also has a lot of people at their events so it is a great place to meet people in airsoft and what not.
Corsair hosts games down at Citadel Field in Orleans (Outter Cape Cod area) Citadel usually draws a smaller crowd because it is out there but it is a fun field I think.
I've only played at these two but I have heard good things about the other fields also.
I was planning on going to the GT event setup for July 13. By then some new equipment i ordered should be ready and i probably would have told a few people about it. Even though ill probably get my ass handed to me, i still wanna get into it because its far less expensive then paintball and i know more people that do it.

Make sure you have the manditory loadout and the waiver signed and noterized before you go. O and btw, Statik_DM your soooo lucky. I wish i had a duck...
