I've always thought you didn't have to discharge NiMH batteries, just NiCad. My 8.4 volt 4200 MaH has been acting funny lately though, I fully charge it, leave it alone for about a week and then when I shoot it, it runs out after about 300 rounds. I was looking online about it, and it seems that some people actually do discharge NiMH batteries. Have any of you ever done that?
for the first 4 charges i discharge it completely then i charge it whenever.

over time batteries discharge themselves, you should always charge it the night before, plus the cold takes a toll on batteries

I'm probably getting a second battery anyway because you should have two. I don't even own a discharger, is it worth looking into?

you dont need to discharge nimh, i never have and never will. a 4200 should last you a while, but its always good to have a backup

yeah, i'd like to stress what shorty said about charging it the night before. ive had that problem with some of my batteries because i would charge it and then a week-two weeks later i would use it and it would run out after about one-two hicaps. i made sure that i used as much as i could at the ends of games by firing it like crazy and also charging it the night before. works like a charm

discharging nimh batterys can damage the cells and if left discharged too long they wont hold a charge anymore
so in short
DON'T DO IT STUPID
