It's high-time I had my own little corner to rant in so you guys don't have to hunt down video news. I'm going to say a few things that have already been said else-where just to make sure everyone is up to speed.

The first Corsair video is on my Youtube Channel, but it is linked to the Corsair one.

The videos from 12/26/07 are up on the Corsair Youtube channel. They are a montague, a tribute to Forrest and Alex, and a bunch of shots from Erics gun cam. They are also very poor quality. I am trying to find a way to save quality but also not surpass the limits of Youtube posting. Compromises are very hard to work out.

The video's from 1/6/08 are in Ben's hands. His videos should be up in about two weeks. He says they will be up before the next game (some time durring the third week of Feburary). There should be two to three of them.

The videos from 1/20/08 are being worked on by me as we speak. I have weeded out all useable video and audio and will be editing those this week. Expect them roughly around the same time as Ben's, maybe a little later, just to keep everything chronological. However, even if he is late with his, I promise mine before the next game.

So, from now on, look to this thread for video updates and all questions about them or me can be asked here.

Again, I'm sorry about Youtube's failure at allowing high quality (or even just quality) videos. I think I may post a few rediculously short videos of a few key moments in a higher deffinition (or maybe just a deffinition), like Irish shooting me in the throat in slow-mo or Forrest dodging Eric's BBs.

However, I thank you all for your appreciation of the videos and your eargerness to see more. You'll get a lot more (or maybe just more...ok, I'll never do that again, sorry) in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted so long as you stay interested.

Ben and I both use Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0. His problem is probably with his physical computer rather than his program. That machine is more dead than...well, I guess it's not dead or alive...

As for my computer, there are no problems, but Premiere Elements 4.0 (they went two versions in our absence!) has a feature that makes videos of optimized YouTube quality, using their exact format and giving great resolution. This little feature would be worth a delays in my opinion, and might even allow you to post high-res versions of all the current videos (some of the better moments are lost to the abyssal quality).

I love Windows and I hate Macs. Imovie can go to h3ll (are we aloud to say that one here?) and all imac products may follow suit. The only time I would ever consider using a Mac to edit would be if it had Final Cut. Note: I said consider using.

Thanks to a reencountered love of not sleeping and spending gratuitous amounts of time in front of screens, the video of 4/27/08 is about 80% done. As is, it's about three minutes and ten seconds of well edited decent quality footage. By tomarrow evening, I'll have added in multiple layers of ambient sound (aka gunfire; ambient my ass) and a soundtrack.

There will only be one video this time. Sorry, no cross-cutting madness this time. Maybe next game though, if we get a second camera to the field.

I'd like to thank Joel/Desolate for his camera time. Though it was his first time filming at a game, he did a pretty good job. With him (and I, a little bit) filming, we got just as many useable shots as always with half the raw footage.

There is something I need to ask: what was the name of the game that day? If it even has one, Ben, Cam, either of you can tell me any time. If it doesn't, I'll take suggestions.

In regards to a title, I'm still not exactly sure what to do. Somewhere between communication and flying baccon I get lost. I have no idea what any of those have to do with the game that day but Operation "Bring Home the Baccon" makes me chuckle a little. Someone please give me something more or we're gunna go with that.

In other news, I have deemed approximately 27 minutes of footage usable. This means that three videos is more than doable. I don't want any of this to go to waste so as I work on it, I'll let you know if it will be more than three and what they'll be.

Speaking of what they'll be, I have gotten an idea for the third video's focus. Partially inspired by Raider's comment and comments from the keepers of the Al Faith but mostly inspired by the fact that I have so much footage of them, it will most likely end up being a Horsemen tribute (the lavish title given to us by the Al Faith "Horsemen of Violent Progress" is a likely name for said video). If anyone has a problem with me doing that, post it. You've got about a week to punish my intolerable ability to praise greatness.

I will make a video of ANYONE if I have enough AWESOME footage of them. If you'd like me to do one, you may ask me to specifically follow you, or you can just be more awesome when I'm around (*preferred, cause then even if I don't do one of you, I still have sweet video for the standard type).

So, I have reviewed the game footage from Survival and a good portion of it is rather engaging and entertaining. I have a combination of in car still shots, in car moving shots, and standard infantry video of every game aside from the last one (a lack of night vision lights made filming in such conditions...sucky). Though I am unsure and do not know when I will be sure, I believe Ben/DerFrownmacher/Frowny/Deacon/Trask desires a NON standard editing of this video. The possibility of something like a storyline with ingame shots thrown in was discussed. In addition to my uncertainty regarding the format of the video documentation's presentation, my financial life is in peril and my residence is changing yet again. My shit has hit the perverbial fan and is now in flux.

Gotta' love superior diction...

At any rate, do not expect the Surivial video anytime soon. As per usual, should updates arise, I will keep you posted.

In addition to my uncertainty regarding the format of the video documentation's presentation, my financial life is in peril and my residence is changing yet again. Ben is doing something with the Survival tapes. I know not what. The best part is he doesn't have them yet 'cause I wasn't able to get them to him before he went back to college so...yeah...no clue when that's gunna' be set.

The anniversary game, however, is MINE. I'm wicked excited to work on it; I've got a variety of shots to work with (including gun cam and the potential of two cameras filming the same thing from multiple angles) and I miss editing video that I filmed. There are about two hours of tape to work with so I might do what I used to and throw up two vids from the one game, one being a standard montage thing and the other being...something else. I'm not sure yet 'cause I haven't gotten a chance to review the footage.

I'm sure you're tired of hearing this but I can't promise that video any time soon. I'm one week away from moving for a third time this year so I have a ton of last minute Cape Cod stuff to do followed by a few days of unpacking and settling in. Plus right in the middle of that, I'm going to be wicked busy the weekend of Halloween. Please, give me no sh1t.

In summary:
-Survival: Ben's, absolutely no idea about it at all.
-Anniversary: Mine, maybe two videos, done before Thanksgiving.

An update, because I can and because you deserve it.

The footage is good (7 out of 10) and I see places I can probably do those cross cuts I love so much. If there is a second video, it will probably be mostly of me for once. That, or just random bits of people thinking they're funny (so still mostly me).

Despite my computer's video card overheating causing my computer to crash and nulifying over an hour of editing, I have finished weeding out the good stuff. Sadly, whenever Cam was filming near my gun cam, I was aiming at the ground, so no cross-cuts. Oh well; I can deal and I'm sure you don't care. There's a little over 18 min of shots I want to use so cutting it down even more is going to be tough. But I like a challenge, especially when it's one involving too much of a good thing rather than not enough of it.

Expect a standard video about 4 min long and a second more lighthearted one lasting about half that. THXGVN deadline still stands.

Uh...so...wow...I don't know what happened. I sat down at 7:30 and saw the minute and a half of edited video I left my self from the previous day and the next thing I knew it was 12:30 and I had practically finished the whole fuxxing thing.

Finalizing transitions and adding a tertiary audio layer are the only things left to do before this one is set for broadcast.

The second video has been loading for about 4 hours now (it's high deff so it's worth it but god DAMN IT this sh1t is rediculous). It's just funny (hopefully) stuff. I haven't had enough os this kind of thing from recent games to do these styled videos but it is something Ben and I have done before. Let me know what you think.

Since there isn't even an AAR for the 12/28/08 game, I'm going to assume that almost no one cares about the video. Because I'm me, I am still going to make it and keep whoever the phuck reads this thread updated on status.

There's about 40 min of raw, about half of that is usuable, and about half of that is Eric and Jimmy talking about getting high and masturbating. Expect two videos (montauge and comic) but expect them to be short (we're talking two to three minutes).

As I continue to work on it, I'll give you ETAs on them but as of right now, I couldn't tell you when they'll be done. Despite the shortness, the fact that I'm pretty sure no one is interested combined with me not being home too much leads me to suspect that it maye be a few weeks.

The comic video is basically done and runs just under three minutes. There are seven minutes of footage to edit for the other video, which will have a short after it (like how we usually put something funny after three seconds of blackness? This time it will be a THING).

I'm considering names for the video. So far, we're looking at one of these three:
Operation: Tango Icecream
Operation: Fire at Will
Operation: Masturbation (you'll be playing by yourself)

My favorite's the icecream one, though all capture the day as far as I'm concerned. Any input will be acknowledged.

Editing is done. I'm going with Operation: Fire at Random for the montauge and Tango Icecream for the comic one. The secondary video of the montauge is Through Captive Eyes, a moderately edited short depicting the deffending team's last stand and the hostage's extraction.

I may post a tertiary video relating the various sexual and drug related fantasies of our friends Jimmy and Eric, as well as an uncut cigar-filled planning monolouge from Maestro. No promises (none of don't bes gettin' yar hoppers up).

I was finally able to upload all the non-corupted footage from Occupation Hazard onto my computer and have now weeded out the sh1t. Useable footage from both OH and Fire at Random leaves me with 16 min of raw. The potential for two videos is there but don't expect too much. I'm thinking you're gunna' get one and it's gunna' be about four to five minutes long. No clue when you'll get that; I've done a ton of video stuff today already and I'm not home this weekend. I tried to upload it three times. The first two times it said there was an unknown error and the third it loaded but in low-deff. I'm blaming youtube, since I rendered the video in the same format as I have since youtube changed thier size restriction from almost nonexistant to a gig. Sorry; what should have been up last night won't be up 'till late tonight at the earliest.

For those of you who don't care about deffinition so long as it's clearer than "I think that pixel shot that pixel", let me say that this is one video you really need in high-deff. There are slow-mo bbs and lots of fast moving shots that only appear as a blurr if the quality is too poor. It's worth the wait to not see it sh1ty the first time around.

Uh, like, forever. I knew I could only use it once and that it would have to be for something awesome, so I was able to hold on to it all this time. I figured armoured trucks and dual SAWs were good enough reasons to use it. The ludacris amount of people one team 8 all running and shooting in the same direction only made the decision that much easier.

Youtube is really cracking down on copyright infringment now. The first atttempt at posting the 12/28 game resulted in it being torn down and now the anniversary game is muted. My personal non-airsoft youtube account has also recently had a video muted.

Luckily, the copyright infringment charges for the anniversary game video are being pressed by a band one of our friends is related to. I'm going to talk to Smitty to see if he can contact his cousin in 3OH!3 about using thier songs in videos. A while ago he asked them for me at a Thanksgiving dinner or something and they said they'd be cool with it so hopefully this particular video won't be an issue for too much longer.

The over arching issue with copyrights will not die with this one, however. We might need to start loading somewhere else.

If you mean the most recent World War II video, that also is not mine. SAC has that raw and according to a post in the AAR for that game is having trouble editing it because most of it is crap. If he does finish it, I don't know where it will be posted since he hates YouTube and the aforementioned File Front is down.
